The Queen Goes GaGa for Atsuko Kudo latex!

Hitting the front page of almost every newspaper and web news page today are pictures of Lady GaGa wearing this extraordinary Atsuko Kudo latex ensemble which was commissioned for her performance at the 2009 Royal Variety Performance. As is traditional this performance is usually attended by the Queen and this year was no exception.

We had a ball making this very special outfit and Lady G seemed to have fun too and it seems, from her smile that on this occasion HRH was amused!

Hand in Glove

Lady GaGa has worn plenty of AK latex recently – this time it’s just something small but very perfectly formed. Here she is with a certain Ms Ciccone wearing our new and very lush Ladies Driving Gloves at Marc Jacobs NYC show.

You can grab a pair for yourself from our shop

Atsuko Kudo on cover of French Grazia

We were very happy to learn that Atsuko Kudo items graced the cover shot of the newly launched French Grazia on only it’s 2nd week of publication. Apparently Paris has many posters and billboards of the image with our lovely leopard print latex as they are running a big campaign on this. After huge success in the UK we hope that their commitment to latex action gives them similar success in France!

Best dressed Kelly in Atsuko Kudo

The UK’s favourite pin up , Kelly Brook stormed this year’s prestigious GQ Man of the Year Awards wearing a fabulous baby pink lace print Atsuko Kudo Juliet dress. Kelly was there to present one of the awards but the concensus in the press seemed to be that she was the winner of the unofficial award for best dressed lady on the night. Here’s a selection of pictures – if you want more, there are many, many more on line!

Naomi Campbell/Korean Vogue/Atsuko Kudo

Further good news with the worldwide campaign to see supermodels wearing Atsuko Kudo latex came this week when fiery diva Naomi Campbell appeared on the cover of Korean Vogue wearing an Atsuko Kudo red latex beret! It may be small but it appears perfectly formed and we’re very happy that Ms Campbell looks so serene in our shiny rubber millinery!

Studded Red Latex for Lady Gaga

This highly studded red outfit was specially commissioned the day before the Glastonbury set and we pulled out all the stops to turn it around in 12 hours from start to finish. The complete ensemble does also involve a major piece of matching studded headgear which we don’t yet have pictures of....so if anyone out there has some shots of her wearing that please let us know – we’d love to see them.

Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of the increasingly visible Lady G when she starts a series of her own gigs quite soon. The further good news is that when she wears latex – she wears it with ATTITUDE!

Lady Gaga rocks Glastonbury in Atsuko Kudo latex!

Lady GaGa totally shocked and rocked last weekend’s Glastonbury festival with a variety of feisty routines involving quite a lot of Atsuko Kudo latex! She stunned the crowd whilst doing an unexpected vocal and piano routine dressed only in our 50’s cup bra, two tone Betty Knix and a pair of heels, thus demonstrating an ability to rock ‘n’ roll and quite frankly put on a hell of a show. She received a fantastic reaction from many seasoned festival go-ers and critics – here at AK we feel happy we were able to put some hot rubber into the mix for her to burn! Go Lady!

Lady Gaga in Atsuko Kudo Latex

2009 pop sensation Lady GaGa recently spent a night on the London party circuit head to toe in Atsuko Kudo latex. Aswell as many of the tabloids, celebrity gossip blogger, Perez Hilton ran the story and approved of her 'PVC' outfit - though he seemed to be very concerned about her wearing it in the cold London weather! We’re happy she gave everyone a sneak preview of one of our new items – the Rosette hat which is already available in our London store and will be in the online shop soon as part of our new collection for 2009.

Tuesday, 17 February 2009

Last Friday 13th February saw the Prada flagship store in New York launch Fashion Week with a ‘re-mixed’ look created by W magazine fashion editor, Alex White. Alex chose to use some Atsuko Kudo leopard print socks and stockings to give some extra va-va-voom to some of the mannequins! One of our favourite AK models, Darenzia, was in attendance at the party - resplendent in Atsuko Kudo lace print - and as a result hitting the pages of Fashion Week Daily

Atsuko Kudo Valentine feature in Metro

We got a great mention in Metro, London's free paper on the 11th February.

'...If you really want to vamp it up, Simon Hoare at Atsuko Kudo, specialists in couture latex design, suggests a red corset with matching hearts. "It implies your whole body is shaped for love - how sexy is that".
And if you're stuck for present ideas, ditch the predictable roses and buy her a pair of latex hearts: "They are worn on the breasts and are the ultimate sign of intent," says Hoare. "They are flirtatious, sensual and very sexy - the ultimate gesture for any Valentine."

Atsuko Kudo for MAC/Hello Kitty makeup

MAC cosmetics and Hello Kitty have joined forces to create a special range of Hello Kitty themed make up. Here at Atsuko Kudo we were happy to be commissioned to make some of the clothing for the models in the launch campaign. The images are styled by uber stylist, Katy England and photographed by the ever envelope pushing Nick Knight. Having happily made a specially  styled catsuit and a variety of accessories and bows we are now very pleased to see the full effect in these pictures.

The pieces we made for M·A·C/Hello Kitty have now been donated to the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

If you’d like to see more of these looks and perhaps taste a little of the Hello Kitty ‘controversy’ it’s causing online right now please follow the link: Atsuko Kudo/MAC/Hello Kitty

If you’d like to order a catsuit just like the one in the pictures – you know where we live!
